Imam Imam, Tambuwal’s Spokesman And Ex-THISDAY Group Political Editor, Dies

The death has been announced of Imam Imam, the Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal.

According to reports, the seasoned journalist died around 3am on Friday at Nizamieye Turkish Hospital, Abuja.

Before his sudden death, his family said he was admitted to the hospital on Saturday and was already recuperating.

He was aged 41 years.

Before becoming spokesman to the governor, he served between 2011 and 2015 as spokesman to Tambuwal when he was Speaker of the House of Representatives.

He was before his appointment the Group Political Editor of THISDAY newspapers.

A graduate of Mass Communication from Kaduna State Polytechnic, the Taraba State indigene bagged a post-graduate degree in development studies at Bayero University, Kano.

He will be buried at the Al-Nur Mosque, Abuja after Jummat prayers today.

He is survived by two wives and four children.
