A 36-year-old cleric, Pastor Chiedozie Anochima, has been arrested by the Federal Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) of the Imo State Police Command for his alleged involvement in a bank robbery that left several persons dead, including two policemen.

Anochima, the founder of Jesus The Rock of Salvation Healing Ministry, Uratta, in Owerri North LGA, was arrested last week in his church for his suspected role in a robbery at Wetheral Road branch of Zenith Bank in Owerri on February 22, 2017.

In the operation, two policemen were killed, another was injured and one of the robbers was gunned down by police.

The pastor was reportedly picked up after one of the gang members was apprehended one year after the operation and he identified the pastor as a supporter of the gang, The Punch reported.

According to the paper, a police source said the last suspect, Chinonso Onwugbuchlam, identified the pastor.
Onwugbuchlam reportedly told the police that the pastor kept the gang’s guns after operations and prayed for them for protection.
