Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has inaugurated a female-only isolation centre in Kano on Thursday.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Abba Anwar made this known in Kano.
He quoted the governor as saying that the state government considered opening the centre in order to avoid agitations at isolation centres as witnessed earlier.
The governor urged the staff of the isolation centre to be kind to their patients.
“We don’t want to hear complaints from any patient here and you need to understand the psychology of your patients.” the governor said.

He advised the staff to provide the female COVID-19  prospective patients, with the necessary items they may require.

Ganduje stressed the need for the staff to keep the patients updated about their status and what they were expected to do.

“When there is no such explanation, patients would not know when next to a sample would be taken and when next the result of the samples would be announced to them.
“From there you begin to see a lot of agitations. We want a situation of cooperation and we want a situation of understanding,” Ganduje said.
NAN reports that the “female-only” Daula Isolation Centre inaugurated by Gov. Abdullah Ganduje, has a 100-bed space and would be for mild-moderate cases.
It was gathered that the female isolation centre was the seventh isolation centre created to handle COVID-19 cases in Kano.
