Six states namely; Adamawa, Bauchi, Kano, Benue, Plateau and Sokoto has been earmarked for an election re-run in those states respectively by Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigerian [INEC] due to inconclusive election results and marginal victory recorded by the leading contestants.
Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] is leading in the five disputed sates [Adamawa, Bauchi, Kano, Benue and Sokoto States] while, All Progressive Congress [APC] leads in one of the disputed states which is Plateau State.
The breakdown are as follows:
1.Adamawa State: Umaru Fintiri – PDP – 367,471
Jubrilla Bindow – APC – 334,995
2.Bauchi State: Senator Bala Mohammed – PDP – 469,312
Moihammed Abubakar – APC – 465,453
3.Benue State: Samuel Ortom – PDP – 410,576
Emmanuel Jime – APC – 329,022
4.Kano State: Abba Yusuf – PDP – 1,014,474
Abdullahi Ganduje – APC – 987,819
5.Sokoto State: Aminu Tambuwwal – PDP – 489,558
Aliyu Ahmed – APC – 486,145
6.Plateau State: Samuel Lalong – APC – 583,225
Jeremiah Usen i – PDP – 538,326
Majority of the states in the disputed re-run elections trails were primarily won by Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] gubernatorial candidates, but were declared inconclusive by Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria [INEC] Nigeria with a clause of ‘no clear victory’ and margin of votes did not marched the required margin.
Osun State election re-run witnessed the same inconclusive scenario, which later produced the incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola, with condemnations from various quarters, which includes; Journalists, Election Observers/Monitors and Civil Society Groups of wide spread ‘retail corruption’ [vote-buying] in an unimaginable proportion syndrome that characterizes the Osun State re-run election. It was ’Ero mi ton jo, ton jo lori omi. Eni to nlulu nbe nisale odo’.
The March 9th, 2019 gubernatorial/state assemblies elections that predicated the ‘inconclusive election’ trails in the six states is surely a ‘strangler of the voters choice[s]’. In Kano State where Kwakwassiya ‘Miracle’ shook the entire Kano State to it’s foundation and brought down the entire center of commerce state to stand still.
In the build up to the re-run in Kano Sate, The All Progressive Congress [APC] Chairman in the state has declared the election as ‘do-or-die’ affair and this is a wrong and dangerous signal coming from a politician. Kano State Deputy Governor was involved in an unwholesome election meddlesome in the last gubernatorial election in the state.
In Rivers State, the military was actively involved in circumventing the electoral process in the state, with intimidation, harassment’s, disruptions, journalists caging and gagging and human rights violation.
Democracy has surely died in Nigeria! Nigeria’s democratic norms and principles has been enveloped into darkness by Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria [INEC], politicians, security agents, and thugs.
2019 general elections in Nigeria was described as fiercest, the most hard fought, ‘retail-corruption’ [vote-buying] unlimited and unhindered, under aged voting, harassment by politicians, arson, killings, ballot snatching, and collusion and compromising by INEC officials.
One of the most lasting pleasures you can experience is the feeling that comes over you when you genuinely forgive an enemy – whether he knows it or not.
Placing the blame is a bad habit, but taking the blame is a sure builder of character. Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria [INEC] Nigeria has continued to place the blame of electoral violence and malpractices on the table of hapless Nigerians and the voters apathy that characterize the March 9th, 2019 gubernatorial/state assemblies elections was a fall out of Nigerians being dis-enchanted with Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria [INEC] Nigeria handling of Nigeria elections.

This surely not the beginning of the end nor the end of the beginning. But the beginning of the beginning!
