The National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, says President Muhammadu Buhari must immediately declare a state of emergency on insecurity in the country.

According to him, the president must also overhaul the nation’s security architecture to arrest worsening insecurity.

He spoke on Wednesday in Bauchi State, where he had gone to flag-off four road projects.

Secondus said that the whole of Nigeria was in pain over last Friday’s abduction of 333 students at the Government Science Secondary School (GSSS), Kankara in Katsina State.

The party boss called on the Federal Government to secure the release of the boys.

He lamented that nothing was working in the country, saying that besides the insecurity, there was economic hardship in the land.

“Let Buhari release our boys, we are in pains. What is working in this country? You know better than me that everything is going worse. We have never had it this bad as a nation in recent history.

“The president should declare a state of emergency on security and change the whole security architecture. That is what a responsible government would do. When they were campaigning, they said they will do better, but today the situation is worse. Insecurity is everywhere,” Secondus said.
