Insurgency: Niger Republic Air Force Seeks More Collaboration with NAF

Niger Republic Chief of Air Staff, Colonel Amirou Abduolkader, has lauded the existing collaboration between his country and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in the fight against insurgency, urging for more synergy.

Abduolkader made the call on Wednesday while fielding questions from newsmen during his visit to headquarters of the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole in Maiduguri.

Abduolkader, whose entourage had a close door meeting with NAF personnel at the base, said his visit was to reinforce the cordial relationship between the two nations’ military.

“Our relationship has been very good. We need to  put our effort together to face the challenge we have.

“I think we need to go further to improve coordination between our air forces and land forces for maximum result,” Abduolkader.

He commented NAF for its activities in containing bandits and insurgents along the border areas of the two countries, and reiterated his country’s commitment to work with Nigeria in ensuring security in both nations.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that NAF officers who received the Niger Republic Chief of Air Staff in Maiduguri include  AVM P.O. Ohianere, AVM J.M. Gwoni, and the Air Task Force Commander, Air Commodore Abubakar Abdulkadir.
