He was also accused of spying on the movements of late Iranian General, Qasem Soleimani on behalf of the foreign powers.

Qasem Soleimani was killed by a US drone strike in Iraq earlier in 2020.

According to the United States, Qasem Soleimani was planning a major attack against American interests in the region and had to be taken out.

The latest execution comes on the heel of that of a former Ministry of defence employee, equally accused of spying and selling information to the United States.

According to Iranian official news agency,

Majd’s death sentence was carried out on Monday morning over the charge of espionage so that the case of his betrayal to his country will be closed forever”.
