A Catholic Priest has advised African men to incorporate the African culture into Christianity to avoid the extinction of the African culture.
Speaking on Sunday, Rev. Father Gabriel Ngbe of Akwangwa Catholic Church, in Nasarawa State noted that the White man who brought Christianity mixed it with a part of his religion
He further stressed that although monogamy was preached by the White man in his gospel, the African man can be polygamous in order to save him from extra-marital affairs.
He said: “The Whiteman that brought Christianity to us mixed the religion with his culture and Africans just accepted it like that at the expense of our culture.
“If we did not incorporate parts of our culture into the way we worship God, our culture would in no distant time go into extinction.”
He added that those who practiced polygamy before finding Christ should not be discriminated against.
“It is better to have many wives at home than to have only one and yet have many girl friends and lovers outside.”
