“It’s because of 2023 election” – Reactions trail FG’s lifting of #TwitterBan

After 222 days, the Federal Government lifted the suspension on Twitter’s operations in Nigeria at Wednesday midnight and many Nigerians who use the social media platform tweeted their minds into the wee hours of Thursday.

The Herald reported that the #TwitterBan was lifted following a statement signed and released by the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency and Chairman Technical Committee Nigeria-Twitter Engagement, Kashifu Abdullahi.

“The Federal Government of Nigeria directs me to inform the public that President Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the lifting of the suspension of Twitter operation in Nigeria effective from 12 am tonight, January 13, 2022.

“The approval was given following a memo written to the President by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Pantami,” the statement read.

Since the announcement, many Nigerians have been baring their minds.
