As the former Delta state governor, James Ibori celebrates his 58th birthday today in a UK prison after he was found guilty of money laundering and stealing from the Delta state government, his daughter, Erhiatake Ibori who is a serving member of the Delta state House of Assembly is still proud to call him ‘Daddy’.

Erhiatake wrote an open letter in celebration of his 58th birthday.

She wrote:

Dear Dad,

I could start this letter by thanking you for countless things such as the roof you provide over my head or the food you place on my table, I bless almighty God for given me a wonderful father like you.

Sometimes I sit back and think about how truly lucky I am to have you as my father . My bestfriend, My mentor and my very distinguished leader and the pride of Urhobo Nation. I also really want to thank you for all the countless times you turned a blind eye even when I was strong-headed and set in my ways-wonder where I got that from?

I’ve learned what truly means to love people more than you love yourself and how to be patient and learnt how to listen more and talk less.

I want to thank you for being the first man I will ever LOVE! Sounds funny even to me because we never could agree on anything but in my heart I knew there would never be a better man with a better soul than you daddy.

I would be completely lost in this world without you and I am wholeheartedly convinced that God knew exactly what he was doing when he chose you to be my father and me to be your loving daughter.

When I think about all the good things God has given me, you always come to mind, your wisdom has taught me to trust in the lord and your courage has shown me how to walk to faith .

You have encouraged me to reach for the stars, Thanks for all the times you lifted me up and helped me believe that anything is possible. God has protected you for I and my little Siblings and entire family. He will continue to protect till you come home to us safely. SOON!!!

I hope you know how blessed we feel to have you in our hearts and live, today and always.

Happy Birthday Daddy you remains the BEST man I know.

Your Honourable Daughter,
HON. ERHIATAKE IBORI.
