Mr. Nwoha Amaechi, a former Speaker of Imo State Assembly has said the suspension of Abdulmumin Jibrin was deserved.

Amaechi said that Jibrin by committing his actions, violated a standing rule of the lower chamber of the National Assembly.

He called his actions “Unethical” and said it was a “warning for those lacking proper discipline.”

He said; “Publicly levelling unfounded allegations against his fellow members in spite of the party’s intervention is unethical of a lawmaker.

“He went too far in his actions. He went to the Press first to make allegations, exposing the House’s internal matters to the Press.”

He continued; “If Jibrin had, at the beginning and before the signing of the budget, reported foul play by even bringing the matter to the attention of security agents, he would have been vindicated; but he didn’t.

“His action was like an afterthought; he created room for suspicion; in fact, he shot himself on the leg.”
