Jigawa assembly passes 2017 budget of N129.8bn

The Jigawa House of Assembly on Tuesday passed the state’s N129.8 billion 2017 budget.

Presenting the appropriation bill at the house in Dutse, the Chairman of its Committee on Appropriation, Alhaji Musa Dutse, said that the estimate was increased from N127.8 billion.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gov. Badaru presented N127.8 billion to the house on Dec. 20, 2016.

Dutse explained that some adjustments were made where necessary to ensure people of the state benefited from government in the areas of needs.

 

 

He said that the adjustments were made in budgets of departments, parastatal agencies, and ministries.

According to him, budget of the ministry of education was affected by the increase.

NAN reports that after deliberation, the house unanimously passed the bill as presented by the committee. (NAN)
