President Goodluck Jonathan is reportedly considering appointing some politicians as ministers in order to pave the way for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to strengthen its party machinery within the states controlled by the APC.

The Presidency is thought to have dropped one of the ministerial nominees, Hajia Jamila Salik forwarded to the Senate for consideration in order to pave the way for Mallam Ibrahim Shekerau.

Also touted to be a potential candidate for a ministerial slot is Senator Gbemi Saraki whom the PDP hopes to use as a counter to her brother, Senator Bukola saraki’s dominance over political structures in the state.
