By now everyone with a mobile device has in some way or form seen the video making the rounds in which the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris tries to make a speech and bungles the entire thing.

The reaction on social media has been priceless with many ridiculing the IGP and laughing at his perceived inability to read coherently.

There have been theories that the IGP might be dyslexic and therefore struggle with word association and reading, but most people have countered this saying that if indeed he was dyslexic, he would know not to even attempt the speech in the first place.

According to the Punch, the journalist suspected of releasing the clip, Aminu Nurudeen of Liberty Television has gone into hiding after being invited by the Kano State Police Command

The reason for his invitation is because the police are unhappy with the fact that he released the video after it was mandated to all journalists in attendance not to do so.

“I mean, transmission, I mean effort, that the transmission cooperation to transmission, I mean transmission to have effect, ehm, apprehend, I mean, apprehensive towards the recommendation, recommended formation effective and effect, I mean, apprehensive at the transmission of…and transmission and transmission for the effective in the police command.” Idris was captured saying in the viral clip.

The IGP was reported to have tried to explain it away as a work of enemies who doctored the video.

The IGP is reported to be very embarrassed and angry at the video and has ordered an investigation into its release.

According to a source for the Punch, “He (IGP) has however ordered an investigation into the leakage of the video but we are watching to see how he intends to deal with the individuals behind the viral video without further embarrassing himself and the force,”
