Just In: FC Ifeanyi Ubah bus Involved In Nasty Crash, 6 Affected

FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s team bus, conveying players and teams officials to Ijebu Ọdẹ, got involved in a road accident that had knocked two of the players unconscious and others injured this afternoon, a statement from the club confirmed.

The bus was said to have crashed with another bus along the infamous Benin/Ore road while making its way to Ìjèbú Ọdẹ for the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Matchday 37 fixture against Sunshine stars on Sunday.

The statement signed by the club’s Chairman, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Ubah established the news proper.

“We wish to confirm that FC IfeanyiUbah team bus conveying players and officials was involved in a car accident along Benin/Ore expressway while on our way to Ijebu Ode to honour the NPFL Matchday 36 fixture with Sunshine Stars billed for this Sunday, 3rd of September, 2017.

“Six of our players sustained varying degree of injuries and two that are unconscious hitherto have regained consciousness and are receiving treatment presently at the closest medical facility near the site of the accident. We wish to express our felicitations for your concern, support, outpour of emotions, deepest thoughts and prayers at this sad times.” the statement read.

The Anambra warriors are currently sitting 6th on the NPFL log with a continental berth still a probability.
