Fights Break out during House of Representatives session over Fuel Increase

1 Min Read

Reports just coming in indicate that a struggle has broken out in the house of Representatives  during a special Plenary session.

The house of Representatives had called a special Plenary session to discuss the Federal government’s decision to increase the price of fuel.

The scuffle stemmed from PDP members barring the path of Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu.  The PDP representatives refused the minister entry while waving the Nigerian flag and singing protest songs.

Dr. Kachikwu was invited to come and explain the situation to the house of reps, but things are reported to have degenerated to a bad state.

Many are upset at Kachikwu’s role in the fuel scarcity, arguably the worst in Nigeria’s history and the subsequent increase in the price of petroleum products.
