JUST IN: APC Inaugurates Giadom’s Replacement As Protesters Demand NWC’s Sacking

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated Barrister Worgu Boms as the party’s Deputy National Secretary, replacing Chief Victor Giadom.

Boms was inaugurated at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday.

This followed the declaring by 16 out of the 20-member NWC that Giadom was no longer their deputy scribe.

The NWC members argued that Giadom had resigned his position in order to contest for the Deputy Governorship post in Rivers State in 2019. The NWC subsequently declared the post vacant.

Giadom is laying claim to the position of Acting National Chairman of the party, following the court-ordered suspension of the substantive National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

Meanwhile, scores of protesters stormed the party’s National Secretariat on Monday to demand the sacking of the NWC.

The protesters led by Okpokwu Ogenyi described the present NWC as incompetent, stressing that the party’s fortunes have dwindled since the NWC was inaugurated.
