President Muhammadu Buhari says Nigerians accusing him of being soft on bandits and terrorists in the north are being unfair to him.

The president stated this during an exclusive interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) on Friday night which was monitored by The Herald.

He was responding to criticism from a cross-section of Nigerians that he is soft on bandits and terrorists in the north while taking a hard stance on similar elements everywhere else.

According to Buhari, those who feel he is soft on bandits would do well to inquire from the governors of Zamfara, Katsina and Sokoto states and how he has ensured the deployment of police and the military to quash them.
