He took to Twitter to declare this on Monday afternoon.

Umar wrote, “I have just tested positive for COVID19. At the moment, I am still under self isolation as health personnel make their way to my house for evacuation to Gwagwalada isolation centre.

“My neighbours and employer have been notified accordingly.”

The patient, who described himself as a “Father, Husband, Tax Man (Chartered)”, had expressed fears earlier after someone on the same flight with him tested positive.

He said they shared a British Airways flight 0083 from London Heathrow to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on March 20.

In a tweet he shared two hours earlier, Umar said, “Someone on my flight tested positive, that is to say everyone on that flight has been exposed.

“Although, I’m in self isolation, time to go get tested ASAP.”
