JUST IN: Bandits Invade Kaduna School, Abduct Female Students

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted an unconfirmed number of female students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Mando in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

It was learnt that the bandits left the male students untouched but abducted the female students before whisking them away to an undisclosed location.

The college is said to be located less than 20 kilometres away from the Nigerian Defence Academy.

It is also located close to the Kaduna International Airport where bandits recently abducted some workers of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Kaduna, ASP Mohammed Jalige confirming the incident.

Jalige said the attack happened at about 3:00 am of Friday, and an unspecified number of the students had been abducted.

“Yes students were kidnapped but we don’t have the exact number of students kidnapped,” he added.

Jalige however said police and military operatives are working to trace the kidnappers and rescue the students.

He said the command will give an update on the incident.

Also confirming the incident, Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan said that an investigation has commenced.
