Just In: Bomb explosion rocks home of APC chieftain in Edo

A bomb has exploded at the residence of factional State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Edo State, Lawrence Okah.

The Herald gathered that Okah escaped death when the bomb explosion rocked his residence on Tuesday, February 11.

It was learnt that the explosion damaged a part of the building and dug a hole in the ground. Though no life was lost in the incident, a team of police anti-bomb squad was hurriedly dispatched to the scene to remove an unexploded device.

It was also gathered that no arrest has been made regarding the bomb explosion as Okah disclosed how he luckily escaped being killed during the incident.

Earlier, The Herald reported that there was a pandemonium on Saturday morning in Edo Ekiti, Ekiti state when explosion suspected to be bomb rocked buildings on the premises of the old governor’s office.

The old governor’s office located at Oke Ori-Omi area of the Ado Ekiti metropolis is where the Ministry of local government and chieftaincy affairs, is situated.

It was learnt that the explosion occurred around 7:05 am caused panic in the area and its environs as it shook buildings located several kilometres away from the scene of the incident.
