Just In: Buhari’s government launches Nigerian Gas Transportation Network code

Nigerian Gas Transportation Network Code has been launched in Abuja by President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.

President Buhari assured the International Oil Companies (IOCs ) of security on their investments, saying they cannot have it better anywhere than Nigeria.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, who represented the president during the Nigeria International Petroleum Summit (NIPS) gave the assurances in Abuja.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Silva, who unveiled the code noted: “In line with government’s policy to reinforce and expand gas supply and stimulate demand through the National Gas Expansion Programme, the code will provide open and competitive access to gas transportation infrastructure and development of the Nigerian Gas sector.

“Also, the code will stimulate the domestic gas supply market, drive gas-based industrialisation and the realisation of the government’s aspiration to move 100million Nigerians out of poverty. ”
