Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi has resumed training with the team after a tense period of uncertainty surrounding his future.

The six-time Ballon D’Or winner had stopped training with the side after handing in a transfer request late August.

While Messi claimed that he was a free agent, the club insisted that his €700 million release clause must be paid before you could be allowed to leave.

The 33-year-old finally made a decision to stay at the Camp Nou on Friday, saying though he wished to leave, he did not wish to head to court to force a move.

He had also vowed to put the saga behind him and not allow it to affect his commitment to the club.

Reports say the player demonstrated this by hitting the club’s training ground an hour before any other player on Monday.
