Recall that the PDP had initially suspended Kashamu in 2011. He has been at loggerheads with former president Olusegun Obasanjo who had consistently affirmed that he will never be in the same party with a drug peddler.

It is observed that Kashamu is an ally of Ali Modu Sherrif, ex-chairman of the PDP who battled tough to retain headship of the party.

It was also gathered that Kashamu strongly criticized Ayo Fayose for PDP’s loss after the Ekiti governorship election, saying that he saw it coming.

In his words: I was never surprised to see this type of result. How can PDP win when the former chairman, caretaker committee, Ahmed Makarfi allow Fayose to drive major PDP stakeholders in Ekiti state and other southwestern states?

‘’the people of Ekiti state have decided to reject anything that is associated with Ayo Fayose and it has happened that way. The people never said they don’t like PDP. They only hate Fayose’s pranks. Since the leadership of the party has refused to intervene, the good people in this state has done well by removing him.

‘’What effort has he made to better the lives of Ekiti people? All his mellow drama and tricks of eating at local restaurants and clearing dirt on the street will not better the life of an average Ekiti person’’.
