JUST IN: Police Find Body Of Lebanese Engineer Kidnapped In Kano

The Kano State Police Command says it has recovered the body of an expatriate engineer kidnapped on a construction site in Kano on Tuesday.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abdullahi Haruna, made the disclosure to reporters on Friday, saying the police found the engineer’s body on Thursday.

Haruna said that the slain engineer’s corpse was discovered under the Zaria Road Bridge.

He added that the remains of the engineer had been deposited at the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, Kano.

The engineer, believed to be a Lebanese working for Triacta Construction Company,  was working on the underpass bridge at Dengi Roundabout by Zoo Road when he was kidnapped at about 7:00am by unknown gunmen.

His driver was shot dead in the incident.

The police spokesman disclosed that investigations had commenced to unravel the circumstances behind the engineer’s kidnap and killing.

He further disclosed that the victim’s family members have been contacted and arrangements are in top gear to transport his remains to his home country for burial.
