The Socio-Economic Rights And Accountability Project (SERAP) has charged President Muhammadu Buhari to show transparency by publicly committing to publish details of his asset declaration when leaving office.

The frontline rights group made the call in a tweet on Sunday.

According to SERAP, the president should also ensure that all outstanding grand corruption cases are prosecuted before his tenure expires.

President Buhari will leave office at the end of his second term on May 29, 2023.

“BREAKING: We’ve urged President Buhari to recommit to transparency and demonstrate leadership by publicly committing to publish his asset declaration at the end of his tenure of office, and ensure the prosecution of all outstanding grand corruption cases,” SERAP wrote.
