The death of a mechanic, Chima Ikwunado, allegedly at the hands of the E-Crack Team of the Rivers State Police Command is currently setting social media on fire.

A car owner had narrated how the police at the Mile One Police Station Port Harcourt framed his mechanic, Chima and four others for car robbery and cultism when they were only caught driving against traffic.

The five arrested men were identified as Chima Ikwunado, Victor Ogbonna, Osaze Friday, Ifeanyi Osuji and Ifeanyi Onyekwere.

In a story shared by a good Samaritan, Comrade Phils, the car owner, who did not disclose his identity for fear of being killed, said that the incident happened on December 19, 2019.

According to him, the team of five men was out testing two newly-repaired vehicles when they were caught driving against traffic.

He said that the E-Crack team that arrested the boys found N150,000 on the men and whisked them to their station in a bid to extort the money from them.

He said that the police later lied that the boys stole his car when he never made such a report.

The car owner disclosed that the police tortured the men to the point of death and one of the victims, a 19-year-old, was forced to do a false confession of car robbery to avoid being tortured to death.

However, Chima was not so lucky as he lost his life in the process of being tortured.
