#JusticeforUwa: Apostle Suleman offers N1m bounty for info on rapists, killers

The General Overseer, Omega Fire Ministries (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleman, has offered N1 million bounty for information leading to the apprehension of those that raped and killed Uwaila Vera Omozuwa in a church in Benin City, Edo State.

Suleman’s church is headquartered in Auchi, in the same Edo State.

The 100-level student of the University of Benin went to read in The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Miracle Sanctuary Mega Parish, Edo Province 10, Ikpoba Hill area of Benin City on May 27, 2020, when the yet-to-be-identified assailants accosted and raped her.

She was said to have been struck with a fire extinguisher by the men who forced their way into the church premises, rendering her unconscious until she died in a hospital on Saturday.

The gruesome nature of the incident led to the #JusticeforUwa hashtag on Twitter.

It also led to protests by UNIBEN students to the Edo State Police Command. They were demanding that the perpetrators be made to face justice.

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki ordered an investigation into the incident.

But taking to Twitter on Monday evening, Suleman offered N1 million compensation for information leading to the capture of the assailants.

The cleric also provided a phone number through which the information could be passed across.

“I would give N1million to anyone willing to provide reliable information to the apprehension of those behind the rape/murder of vera uwaila who was murdered in the church..contact +2348119313785,” Suleman wrote.
