Claudio Marchisio joined Juventus at the age of seven, he later signed a professional contract with the Turin club and went on to win seven titles with the Old Lady. In his twelve-year spell with Juventus he spent one year on-loan at Empoli.

In 2016 Marchisio suffered an injury that left him sidelined for a long period. He never regained his form as he struggled for regular playing time afterwards. He moved to St. Petersburg Zenith in 2018 where more injury spells limited his impact.

He won 55 caps for his darling Italy and was part the Italian team that reached the Final of the European Championship in 2012. He played 400 games for Juventus and won four Italian league titles and reached the final of the champions league on two occasions, loosing on both attempts too.

“I’m a kid from Turin who dreamed of playing for Juve and who did it,” he said.

Marchisio played his first professional game for Juve in 2006 and, bar one season on loan with Empoli, remained with the club for the next 12 years.

Claudio Marchisio is nicknamed “the little prince” and will be missed by the football world.

Claudio Marchisio was born on the 19th of January 1986 in Turin, Italy.
