Kaduna Govt, FG partner on exploitation of solid minerals

The Kaduna State Government said it’s would partner with the Federal Ministry of Minerals and other company to exploit the state solid minerals.

Gov. Nasiru El-Rufai disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna on Sunday.

“We are working with several companies and the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals to exploit some of our solid minerals in Kaduna.

“For instance we have a lot of gold in the Birnin Gwari axis and we have gone far in discussions with several companies to come and do that,’’ he said.

He said the state government was also looking at other precious stones in Southern Kaduna and granite and marbles in other part of the state.

The governor said discussions were ongoing and that the state government would also meet other prospective investors at the economic summit.

He said the state government was also working to improve business environment in the state, adding that “we are all witness to the fact that business activities has decline in the state and had lost its production capacity.

“I just return from France, I was in France to conclude discussions with Peugeot Company, to bring them back, I am very happy to say that we have positive discussion and they will be at the investment summit.

El-Rufai added that the economic and investment summit is one of the administration initiatives to bring investors, current and prospective back to Kaduna so that the state will be changing for the better.

He said the initiative was an opportunity to the companies to establish in the state and also an opportunity for the teeming Kaduna youths to be employed.

He assured all who want to invest in the state that Kaduna state was safe and secure for economic investments.

NAN report that the Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit is organise to generate investment to the state, will hold from April 6 to April 7 in Kaduna.

NAN reports that the summit with the theme “let’s move Kaduna into the Global Economy’’, would attract business moguls including Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, international finance organisations and development partners.

“The purpose of the KADINVEST is to bring together the world’s savviest investors to share fresh insights and discuss the strategies put in place for investment in Kaduna state.

NAN also recalled that the summit objective is to broadcast Kaduna State’s investment promotion messages to potential investors, lift the profile of the state’s economy within the international investment community.

NAN also recall that, Gov. Nasiru El-Rufa’i will unveil the state’s Economic Agenda and Development Plan during the summit.(NAN)
