The Kaduna State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Kasuwan Magani, a semi-urban settlement in Kajuru Local Government.

A statement signed by Samaila Aruwan, Senior Assistant to Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Media and Publicity, said that the curfew was “with immediate effect”.

The statement did not indicate why the action became necessary, but a source from the community told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), that it witnessed some skirmishes on Thursday.

NAN reports that Kasuwan Magani witnessed a major violence that left many dead while houses and shops were destroyed, early this year.
