Abdullahi Ganduje, Executive Governor of Kano state has banned people of opposite sexes from boarding the same commercial tricycle across the state.
This is expected to take effect from January 2020.
The governor made this at the closing ceremony of 77th annual Islamic Vacation Course (IVC) by the Muslim Society of Nigeria (MSSN), which took place at Bayero University, Kano.
The governor who was duly represented by Harun Ibn-Sina, Commander General of Hisbah Board stated that the ban was in line with the state’s government commitment to ensure Islamic values are upheld.
