Kano Pillars whip Abia Warriors 5-0

Hosts Kano Pillars Football Club on Sunday beat visiting Abia Warriors FC of Umuahia 5-0 in the ongoing 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The Match Day 24 fixture played at the San‎i Abacha Stadium in Kano was watched by the usual large crowd of spectators.

Kano Pillars’ captain Rabiu Ali opened scoring in the 10th minute through a penalty kick, before goals by Razaq Adegbite and Bala Zakka‎ later in the first half.

The hosts put the match well beyond the reach of the visitors in the 83rd and 90th minutes through Ali and Nafiu Kabuga respectively.

Speaking after the game, Kano Pillars’ coach Babaganaru Muhammed, commended his players for their brilliant performance.

“I am pleased with the performance of the boys in general, and I also commend Abia Warriors’ players for their performance,’’ he said.

The coach also called on the club’s supporters to be law-abiding and continue to support the club.

Abia Warriors’ coach Kenneth Boboye also commended Kano Pillars for their performance and fighting spirit.

“My team lost to a better and experienced side,’’ he said.(NAN)
