The Kano State Assembly on Wednesday urged the State Government to reconstruct the dilapidated three kilometer access road in Gyadi-gyadi, Tarauni Local Government Area of the state.

The call followed a motion by Abubakar Zakari, representing Tarauni State Constituency, during the plenary presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Hamisu Chidari.

Zakari said the road which was constructed in 2000 by the previous administration was in bad shape and lacked good drainage.

He added: “the road at Babban Layi Gyadi-gyadi is among the few access routes from Court Road to Zaria Road used by motorists to avoid traffic hold-up along the major road.”

He said that the reconstruction of the road had become necessary due to its importance to the residents of the area, especially the motorists.

In another development, the house confirmed the appointment of Alhaji Dahiru Abba as Commissioner II in the State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC). (NAN)
