Kano State Task Force Intercepts 53kg Of Illicit Drugs

Kano State Task Force Committee on Counterfeit Drugs has intercepted about 53.3 kilogrammes of illicit drugs suspected to be Indian hemp.

Mr Gjhali Sule, Chairman of the Committee, announced this while handing over the drugs to National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kano.

Sule, who represented the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Aminu Tsanyawa, said the task force intercepted fake and counterfeit drugs meant for distribution across Kano.

Receiving the substances, the state commandant of the NDLEA, Dr Ibrahim Abdul commended the state committee for its support and cooperation to the agency.

Abdul, however, called on all stakeholders, to synergize and cooperate for effective eradication of illicit drug abuse and trafficking, considering the high percentage of Nigerians engulfed by the menace.
