Why Kanye West’s Endorsement Of Trump Is Bigger Than Anything Jay Z Ever Did For The Culture

Kanye West is the most forward thinking rap artist in hip-hop today, going by his endorsement of Donald Trump alone. Kanye West is the only mainstream black hip hop  celebrity in America that dares to think differently and is supporting Trump at a time when it is uncool.

Jay Z, Snoop Dogg and many other rappers have been friends with or supported Donald Trump and his family business empire in the past. On many of his platinum selling records which were consumed mainly by the black community, Jay Z has name dropped Donald Trump’s assets severally like he did on What More Can I Say, where he raps “I’m at the Trump International/Ask for me”.

He also raps about an apartment he has at the Trump, in which he has only slept in once on another record. A lot of these records were released decades after Trump was accused of racism here and there, so why did Jay Z keep name dropping a “white supremacist” on his records. The answer is simple, Donald Trump is NO racist and Jay Z just likes to profit on whatever is trending. He is a businessman, and supporting Donald Trump is bad for his business. Especially since he and his wife are close pals with the Obama’s and many other democratic stalwarts.

Kanye West is one of the only original thinkers in hip-hop. Since hip hop permeates the black community and overshadows a larger part of global culture, Kanye West’s stance on Donald Trump is a bit disconcerting to the culture. But this is what the culture needs. Leadership that dares to be different.

The Carters and the Clintons. BFFs based on political expediency.

Young black America needs a black man to stand up and tell them its cool to think for themselves, and to form their own opinion. That one needs not to be held hostage to the doctrines that the modern day slave masters try to sell us through those celebs among us that have themselves gods of men.

Producer Swizz Beatz recently came out to slam Kanye West for his choice to identify with unpopular views, and for failing to conform to the culture and its custodian’s views on Donald Trump.

Swizz Beatz, Snoop, and everyone else who has called out Kanye West are nothing but the old order that will soon be flushed out by the new order. Those are elements in the culture that are being used by political forces to continue to perpetuate this stereotype that the republicans and Donald Trump are all racist, evil, old, white men who are out to hurt minorities. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Students of history know that Republican administrations are more closely linked to the success of minority groups than Democratic administrations. The only groups Democratic administrations tend to favor are pro-life groups, environmental groups and LGBT groups. Under Donald Trump, crime is falling and black unemployment is at an all time low. Under Barack Obama, homosexual happiness was at an all time high. He did nothing for black prosperity, yet he continues to be hailed, based on the colour of his skin and his charm. Charm, and being a media darling will not put food on the tables in the hood, sadly.

Kanye West, I believe supports Trump because he sees beyond the media charade, he himself having been a victim of media bullying and fake news. Kanye is also an iconoclast, and can never be a sheep. As one of the keeper’s of the culture, his standing next to Trump causes concerns for those who would want to paint the president as racist, and a lot will be done to further discredit Kanye West by his growing list of enemies.

But points to Kanye for standing up for unity, love and peace. He is a true ambassador of what it means to be a human being.
