American rapper Kanye West has reached out to President Donald Trump with a plea to pardon the imprisoned music mogul, Sean Combs, also known as Puff Diddy or Diddy.
It is reported that Diddy is currently entangled in over 30 civil lawsuits related to sexual assault and misconduct. He remains in a New York jail, facing a federal criminal trial on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
Using his X page on Thursday, Kanye, popularly known as Ye, appealed to Trump to free his embattled friend.
“@realDonaldTrump, please free my brother Puff,” Ye wrote.
Diddy’s arrest by Homeland Security in September last year was on suspicion of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and interstate transportation for prostitution. Despite denying all charges and entering a not-guilty plea on Tuesday, September 17th, Diddy’s bail requests were rejected twice.
Recently, Diddy faced a health scare as he was rushed to a Brooklyn hospital following a knee injury but was swiftly returned to his cell after receiving medical treatment.
His trial is set to commence later this year.
