Katsina leads with 507, 000 people as FG registers 3m poor Nigerians for social support

The Kaduna State Residents Registration Agency (KADSRRA) says it is supporting the enrollment of 2.1 million poor and vulnerable captured in the State Social Register for the National Identity Number (NIN

The federal government has registered a total of 3,031,065 individuals and 755, 112 households in the ongoing national social register.

Katsina leads other 25 states with 113,268 households and 507,160 individuals.

The register, under the administration of the National Social Safety-Nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO), has covered Abia, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Benue, Cross River, Delta, Ekiti, FCT, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Taraba and Zamfara states.

It was also gathered that only 3.22% of the total number are persons living with various forms of disabilities.

While1,499,042 were males while 1,532,023 were females.

The report from NASSCO states that the agency will formally inform social intervention stakeholders on the data availability of Poor, Vulnerable households for mining.
