Katsina village head condemns Buhari’s claims over bandits attack

Leaders of Tsawan community in Batsari local government area of Katsina state on Monday, February 17 has condemned President Muhammadu Buhari’s claim on recent attack in the state.

Recall that President Buhari on Sunday, February 16, said killing people in the name of revenge is not acceptable.

Tsawan village head, Ibrahim Zangina, who condemned President Buhari’s statement informed Governor Masari who paid a condolence visit to the survivors that it was not a reprisal attack.

“We have never had any incidents of attacks or confrontation with any bandit or group of bandits in the past,” he told the governor.

Masari said that he was deeply shocked over the incident and appealed to those fleeing the communities to return home. He said his government had already initiated measures to ensure that such calamity does not re-occur.
