The abductors of Dr. Bege Katuka, the Caretaker Chairman of Kaura Local Government Council of Kaduna State, have reportedly contacted the family and demanded N100 million for his release.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported this Monday, quoting a reliable source who pleaded anonymity.

However, the Kaura council administration said that the abductors have yet to contact the family.

The Council’s Information Officer, Mr. Sunday Adamu, confirmed the development in a phone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.

Adamu stated that the Council boss was kidnapped on Sunday evening while on his way to farm in Juji village,  Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, efforts are, however, ongoing by Katuka’s family to establish contact with the kidnappers.
