Keke Palmer Opens up About Journey with Hormonal Disorder

Holywood actress and media personality, Keke Palmer has recently taken bold step, telling others that they are not alone in their struggles.

Keke revealed that she has been battling with an hormonal disorder called Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome.

She made this known through a post she shared via her Instagram handle.

Keke added that she had been unaware of what was truly going on with her body for years as several Doctors had been unable to diagnose the problem.

Stating that she had tried everything humanly possible to get rid of the serial acne breakouts that accompanied the disorder, Keke revealed that she had done accutane twice.

The young actress said that her determination to know what the issue was led her down the road of a personal discovery, driving her to take a closer look into her family’s history of diabetes and obesity.

Keke urged others going through the same not to give up and to imbibe the research culture as “nobody could help them but themselves”.

Keke Palmer made her first debut film in 2004 with her role in Barbershop 2: Back in Business. Her outstanding lead role in Akeelah and the Bee (2016) won her several awards, including a Chicago Film Critics Association Award and a Young Artist Award.

In 2019, Keke became the co-host of daytime talk show, Strahan, Sara and Keke featuring Sara Haines and Michael Strahan, for which she received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination this year.
