Kenneth Okonkwo Dares Peter Obi to Reveal Alleged Betrayal After Labour Party Exit

Nollywood actor-turned-politician and former Labour Party Presidential Campaign Spokesman, Kenneth Okonkwo, has publicly challenged Peter Obi to explain how he allegedly betrayed him, following his resignation from the party in 2024.
Appearing on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics program, Okonkwo dismissed accusations of disloyalty, insisting he remained fully committed to Obi throughout the 2023 presidential campaign.
“When I worked for him, I never consulted any politician. I never talked to any political party. I was 100% loyal,” Okonkwo declared.

The legal practitioner, who was one of the most vocal supporters of Obi during the 2023 general election, formally cut ties with the Labour Party in July 2024 over internal crises and what he described as Obi’s unwillingness to address deep-rooted issues within the party.
“I Never Collected Money or Property From Peter Obi” — Okonkwo
Okonkwo also debunked claims that he received financial or material rewards from Obi during the electioneering period, saying his support was purely ideological and not transactional.
“I never got a house. I never got money. I served with sincerity,” he said, adding that critics casting aspersions on him were simply projecting their own character flaws.
Okonkwo Responds to Obi’s “Jesus and Judas” Analogy
In a subtle jab at Obi, who had previously made a cryptic remark referencing Jesus and betrayal, Okonkwo questioned the implication.
“If Peter Obi said Jesus had 12 disciples and one betrayed him, is he calling himself Jesus? How do you betray someone you are no longer working for?” he asked.
Despite the fallout, Okonkwo maintained that he would allow Obi to hold his views, stating: “Nobody fights for God. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.”
