Kevin Spacey Sexual Harassment Saga: House of Cards to End Amidst Controversy

1 Min Read

It might be the end of the road for President Frank Underwood as reports indicated that popular Netflix show, House of Cards is entering its final season.

This comes amidst heavy scrutiny on main star Kevin Spacey after it came out that he allegedly sexually assaulted actor Anthony Rapp when the latter was only 14 years old.

It is speculated that the two are linked although there have been reports that the end of House of Cards had already been decided before the news of Spacey’s alleged indiscretions came to light.

In a joint statement, Netflix and the show’s producer say that the show’s cast and crew met with the companies to discuss the situation. Netflix said they are “deeply troubled” by the allegations.

House of cards has so far enjoyed a 5 season run with an enviable award haul of 6 Emmys, 46 nominations, one Peabody and two Golden Globes.

Kevin Spacey has since apologized for the incident claiming that he does not remember it as he was inebriated that night and also because it was so long ago (30 years).
