Biologically, a woman is built with a natural instinct to protect her offspring from danger both external and otherwise, so it seems unimaginable to see a mother who would deliberately plan to destroy all she has laboured for, what will push an elderly woman to lock her entire family which includes a husband and five children in the house and douse it with petrol and set it ablaze?
This incident reportedly occurred in Dutse Baupma, Abuja on Friday July 5 around 3 am when her family were asleep.
Eyewitnesses at the scene of the incident managed to break into the house which was locked up to rescue the family before they could suffocate. The lady, however, took to her heels upon noticing they were safe.
Her attempt to escape failed as she was later apprehended and handed over to the police in Dutse Makaranta.
