Checkup from the neck up! Kim Kardashian kisses signs of aging on her neck goodbye thanks to laser treatments from her cosmetic dermatologist, Dr. Simon Ourian.

“I’m obsessed with my neck getting old, and Dr. Ourian really helps,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 35, revealed on her site.

To combat the signs of aging, the mom to North, 2, and Saint, 4 months, relies on more than just lotions and serums. “Laser treatments are super cutting edge and I love them as preventative measures to deal with aging before it happens,” she said, adding, “I especially love laser ultrasound.”

So, what exactly does the Ultra Neck Lift do and how does it work? Dr. Ourian, whose practice, Epione, is based in Beverly Hills bares it all.

Who should get laser ultrasound?

“Anyone, male or female, who wants to get rid of sagging skin on their neck and jowls, which may be the result of aging, excess fat or weight loss,” the cosmetic dermatologist tells Us. “[It] may not be the best for people with significant amounts of sagging skin.”

What exactly does it do?

“The Ultra Neck Lift stimulates the production of new collagen which helps prevent deep and shallow wrinkles from forming from the inside out,” he explains of the procedure. “For many patients, one session may be sufficient to create an immediate visible tightening and lifting effect. Skin will be smoother and firmer to the touch.”

What’s the recovery like?

“A treatment session will take 30 to 60 minutes. After, patients should be able to go back to their normal activities immediately.” he says

Is it painful?

“The patient will experience a deep warming when the hand piece is applied,” Dr. Ourian notes. “For some, the Ultra Neck Lift may involve temporary discomfort — a sign that the process of building collagen has begun. The treated area may be pink and mildly swollen immediately after treatment but makeup can be used right away to cover this up.”

How long does it last?

“In most cases, the results will last for a year,” the L.A.-based professional tells Us.
