Legendary Nigerian musician King Sunny Ade has reportedly gone missing, according to alarming claims made by his daughter, Damilola Esther Adeniyi.
In a series of Instagram posts on Monday, Damilola expressed grave concern over her father’s whereabouts, alleging that he may have been kidnapped. She accused individuals close to the veteran singer—most notably her stepbrother, who also serves as his manager—of being involved in the alleged abduction.
“King Sunny Ade has been kidnapped,” she wrote. “The manager, Dayo, is the culprit along with his mother, brothers (Demola, Kenny), and his driver, Ade.”

Though she did not provide concrete evidence, Damilola recounted her last conversation with the Juju music icon, claiming he appeared to be working under duress. She called on law enforcement and relevant authorities to urgently investigate the situation.
As of the time of reporting, King Sunny Ade’s management has yet to issue an official statement, and attempts to reach representatives for comment have been unsuccessful.
The music legend, often referred to as the King of Juju, remains one of Nigeria’s most celebrated cultural figures. His sudden disappearance has sparked widespread concern across the entertainment industry and beyond.
Authorities are yet to confirm or deny the allegations, but the situation continues to unfold.
