Kinsman of former President Goodluck quits Dickson’s Government

Mr Michael Ogiasa, the Special Adviser to Governor of Bayelsa on Power Development, has resigned from his appointment.

Ogiasa who is a kinsman of former President Goodluck Jonathan from Otuoke community in Ogbia Local Government Area, announced his resignation in a letter he addressed to the Secretary to the State Government.

Ogiasa did not give reasons for quitting in his letter dated October 4, 2019, but he thanked the governor for giving him the opportunity to serve Bayelsa State.

Ogiasa said,

“I hereby resign from the office of Special Adviser to the Governor of Bayelsa State on Power Development.

“I wish to also use this opportunity to thank His Excellency Hon. Seriake Dickson for giving me the opportunity to serve Bayelsa State in the above capacity.”

Also, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ward 8 of Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Mr Intelligent Owei, has defected to the All Progressives Congress with his supporters.

He also thanked the APC for welcoming him warmly and pledged to abide by the rules of the party.

Tamuno said the APC was delighted to have Owei and his followers in the party, stressing that with their defection “we have taken over the entire Brass constituency.”
