The PDP’s national leadership had then attempted to  review the list of both factions which angered the former governor.

In a 2-hour meeting, he had threatened to walk away from the PDP.

According to a source for the Daily Trust: “Kwankwaso told the gathering that any move to remove any member of Kwankwasiyya from the aspirants list will lead to his defection from PDP.

“However, the Doguwa-led faction also threatened to dump the party if the leadership failed to review the list of aspirants.

“The meeting ended in a deadlock. Neither Kwankwaso nor Doguwa faction agreed to accept the terms offered by the leadership of the party.”
