Lagos Appeal court president, Garba replaces Bulkachuwa on presidential poll tribunal

Justice M. L Garba, the Presiding Justice of the Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal, has been appointed to head the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal. making his first appearance at the panel’s resumption on Monday.

Garba would be leading the panel as a replacement the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa who withdrew from the same role about three weeks ago.

Recall that Bulkachuwa had on May 22 withdrawn from the panel following an allegation of likelihood of bias levelled against her by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the February 23 presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The duo had petitioned the tribunal to challenge the outcome of February 23 president elections which President Muhammadu Buhari and his party. All Progressives Congress (APC) won.
