Lagos Arraigns Dutchman Who Allegedly Murdered Wife, Daughter

The Lagos State Government has arraigned Peter Nielsen, a 53-year-old Dutchman, who allegedly murdered his wife and daughter on a two-count charge of murder.

The accused was arraigned before Justice Bola Okikiola-Ighile of the Lagos High Court Igbosere on Wednesday.

The State Prosecutor, Adeniji Kazeem, said that the accused murdered his wife, Zainab Nielsen, and daughter, Petra Nielsen at their Banana Island home, Lagos on April 5.

Kazeem, who is the Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, said that the committed the act at 3:45a.m. at Number 4, Flat 17, Bella Vista Tower, Banana Island, Ikoyi.

He said the offence contravened and was punishable under Section 223, Cap C17, Vol 3, Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Justice Okikiola-Ighile ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till October 8 and 9 for commencement of trial.
